Data Deletion Instructions

You can ask DigitalAI Marketing LLC, the company behind SteamBun, to delete the data we hold about you at any time. This applies to restaurants that connected SteamBun, and to customers who messaged or commented on the Facebook Page or Instagram account of a restaurant that uses SteamBun.
Option 1: Remove SteamBun from Facebook
If you connected SteamBun with Facebook Login, removing it stops our access and tells us to delete the data we received through Facebook.
- Open Facebook and go to Settings & privacy > Settings.
- Under Permissions, select Business integrations. If you don't see SteamBun there, check Apps and websites.
- Find SteamBun and select Remove.
- If you also want to remove the posts, videos or events SteamBun published for you, tick that option. Then confirm.
Facebook's menu names change from time to time. If you can't find these options, use Option 3.
Option 2: Remove SteamBun from Instagram
- Open Instagram and go to your profile > Menu > Settings and activity.
- Select Website permissions > Apps and websites.
- Under Active, find SteamBun and select Remove.
Option 3: Email us a deletion request
This option works for everyone, including customers who chatted with a restaurant's Page but never connected an app.
Email hello@getsteambun.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and include:
- your name as it appears on Facebook or Instagram;
- the restaurant, Page or Instagram account you interacted with; and
- roughly when you messaged or commented, if you remember.
Please don't send passwords. We will never ask for one.
What happens next
- We confirm that we received your request, and we may ask a few questions to verify that it's you.
- Within 30 days, we delete the data we hold about you, including any messages, comments, profile details and IDs we received through Meta, and the access tokens for any Page you connected. Copies in backups are removed within a further 60 days.
- We may keep a small amount of information when the law requires it (for example, billing records for a restaurant client), along with a record that we completed your request.
- Deleting our copy doesn't delete messages from Messenger or Instagram themselves. You can delete those conversations in the app, and the restaurant can still see messages that were sent to its own Page.
